On Monday, March 19th, over 150 chefs and restaurateurs tuned in as Meatless Monday’s own Peggy Neu discussed the campaign’s promotional power. “How Restaurants/ Foodservice Can Turn Meatless Monday into a Profit-Maker” was hosted by the Ferdinand-Metz Foodservice Forum, as part of the International Restaurant and Food Service Show of New York.
During the session, Peggy Neu, President of The Monday Campaigns, shared strategies for how restaurants can capitalize on the ever-growing international movement. Neu highlighted stories from some of the 140+ restaurants that currently offer the campaign on a weekly basis, including Mario Batali’s network and John Fraser’s successful promotion at Dovetail. She also shared some tips from foodservice giant Sodexo on how Meatless Monday works in hundreds of their corporate, school and government sites, along with advice on using social media and local press to boost promotions.
