Healthy Tailgating Tips

Before heading out to the pre-game party, make a game plan. Visit your grocery store to stock up on the foods you want. Focus on fruits and veggies and follow these few tips:

  • Substitute veggie hot dogs, veggie burgers or portobello mushroom caps for meat
  • Use olive or canola oil to cook with
  • Be aware of portion size
  • Fill up on fruits, veggies and salads
  • Try baked chips and salsa or pretzels in lieu of fried snacks
