Hot Pepper Pretzels

Makes 6 (2/3 cup) servings

Satisfy a salt craving with this simple treat. Pretzels are a low-fat snack to begin with, and this seasoning blend adds just a trace more.

  • 5 ounces (about 4 cups) mini pretzels
  • 2 teaspoons Smart Balance margarine, melted
  • 4 teaspoons low-salt soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Toss the pretzels with melted Smart Balance, spread on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 4 minutes. Sprinkle with the soy sauce, cayenne, parsley, and garlic powder. Toss to coat well then bake 3 minutes. Remove pan from oven and let cool on a rack. When completely cooled, store in a tightly-sealed container.
