Mission Fig Sorbet

This fruit sorbet shows off the best of Fall’s bounty- beautiful black mission figs and chewy dates. Blended together with vanilla extract, this frozen treat proves how simple a delicious sorbet can be. This recipe comes to us from Elizabeth of NAB Communities.

Serves 4

  • 1 cup black mission figs, chopped
  • 1/2 cup dates, pitted and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place the chopped figs in a freezer bag. Put in the freezer for at least an hour, or until frozen.

Place the frozen figs in a blender or food processor. Add the dates and vanilla and blend until pureed. Serve immediately or reserve in the freezer before serving.
