MEATLESS MONDAY COP21 SESSION

Meat Free Monday: A global campaign to address climate change by reducing meat consumption

Free Admission
Wednesday, 9 December
15:00 – 18:30
Nelson Mandela Auditorium
Climate Generations Area
COP21 Paris – Le Bourget Site

Learn about the positive impact the Meatless Monday grassroots movement – now in 40 countries and 22 languages – is having on shifting the world towards a more sustainable, plant-based diet. Currently livestock production contributes 15% of all GHG emissions – if future meat consumption rises with GDP growth it will greatly reduce the likelihood of achieving the 2⁰ C reduction goal of COP21.

The session will feature presentations from leading politicians, scientists, chefs and advocates from 15 countries who will share their perspectives on how the simple action of going meatless one day a week can benefit our personal health and the health of the planet.
