Happy Meatless Monday – check out our recipe of the week at http://www.planetforward.ca/blog and join & promote the movement. Bon (vegetarian) appetit!!
Everyone should be able to give up meat one-day a week. I will be promoting it on my blog every week. If it makes just one person change, it will be worth it.
congratulations to you all, well done. It really will not harm you, I have been a vegetarian for nearly sixty years and a vegan for fourteen years. I have three adult children and five grandchildren
and despite dire health warnings at various times from ignorant health professionals, (I am not trying to be rude, they often do not know the facts), we are all healthy. My cholestrol is low and I have been told by my doctor I have a very low risk of heart problems. I am also at a much lower risk of cancer. Though I always did it for the animals it turns out to benefit both the planet and me. Just be wise, learn about the healthy things your body needs and eat lovely food.
I love the idea of meatless Mondays, especially for those who are just starting to cut back on their meat consumption, and especially after the weekend when folks are more likely to eat out.
Mary Webber, Family Thrift Counselor
I was an vegetarian for 10 years and have always wanted to get my family to consider this “radical” change….. so Meatless Mondays is a great way to start the process. Thanks for the tip and the nudge!
I’m a vegan, but I’m “omnivore tolerant,” LOL! I post easy “Meatless Monday” tips, tricks and ideas every Monday on my Facebook page, to encourage my omni friends and family to give it a try. Right now, I don’t hit anyone over the head with a sledgehammer as it concerns health and green living. I make it simple and advise those who drive through Dunkin Donuts every day to skip the bacon and egg on a muffin, and grab the bagel instead. But as my “veg curious” friends dip their toes in the water, I’ll start posting healthier options that will lead to weight loss and better living. Baby steps, baby steps, baby steps.

We go meatless on Mondays; it’s a simple and non-fanatical way of reducing consumption.
